Five Simple Steps to Success
No matter how you define success, whether it be feeling your fittest in the gym, perfecting a recipe, spending quality time with your family or finally getting your dream job, here are five simple steps that you can implement in your daily life to help you achieve your definition of success
1. Establish a morning routine
One of the most effective ways to set yourself up for success is to create a morning routine that you look forward to doing when you first wake up.
This routine doesn’t have to be extensive, do things that make you feel centred and balanced so you can move into your day from a place of inner harmony.
Yoga, breathwork, meditation, journaling, and stretching are great ones to start with. Your morning ritual could take as little as five minutes or as long as an hour
2. Prioritize your nutrition
It’s one of those things that seems commonsensical, but it never hurts to re-evaluate our diets and what we’re consuming daily.
Here are some things you should be including in every meal: lean proteins from chicken, fish, legumes, tofu and eggs, healthy fats from avocado, olive oil and nuts, starchy carbohydrates from whole grains, polenta and rice and micronutrients and vitamins from fresh fruits and vegetables will set you up for optimal energy, so you can get the most out of your day.
At Elixr, we are lucky to have an In-House Nutritionist, Mogestri Pather.

3. Properly hydrate yourself
Again, another thing that seems commonsensical, however, 1 in 3 people are not properly hydrated. Ensuring our bodies and brains are properly hydrated is essential to getting the most out of our daily lives. Dehydration leads to brain fog, headaches and low energy. We lose about 2 litres of water every day, just by living.
Here are a couple of ways to make drinking more water easier:
- Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning every day.
- Keep a large bottle of water on your desk at work or on your counter at home and drink from it during the day. Your goal should be to make sure the bottle is empty by the end of the day.
- Fill a large reusable water bottle, and keep it with you throughout the day so you can sip on water as you go about your busy day.
4. Ground yourself on the earth
The modern lifestyle has increasingly separated humans from the primordial flow of Earth’s electrons. Grounding is a practice that relies on earthing science and grounding physics and shows that electrical charges from the earth can have positive effects on your body.
Getting outside and putting your bare feet on the earth or swimming in the ocean are two easy ways to ground yourself. Try to ground yourself at least 3 times a week and see how you feel.
5. Connect with people around you
Life’s biggest lessons, opportunities, and gifts are found in your connections with others.
In today’s world, there’s a bigger emphasis on running around and getting things done than there is on making time to connect with others. Take a look at your weekly calendar and schedule a date night with your partner, a workout with a friend or some quality time alone with yourself to reflect.
The gym is a great place to connect with people and feel part of a community. At Elixr we are proud to have such a great, close-knit membership base.
We are currently offering 2 weeks free for you and a friend if they sign up to a membership.
