Protein, Fibre and How to Actually Fuel an Active Lifestyle

If you’re training regularly, chances are you’re thinking about protein. It’s usually the first thing people reach for when they want to get stronger, recover faster or change body composition.

What’s often overlooked is fibre – but when they’re working together, everything from energy levels to digestion and recovery tends to feel a lot more consistent.

Why protein matters

Protein plays a key role in repairing muscle tissue and supporting recovery as well as satiety and stable energy. Getting enough across the day can help reduce energy dips, keep you fuller for longer and make your overall nutrition feel more balanced.

For most active people, it’s not just about hitting a total number. It’s about consistency, spreading intake across meals, and choosing sources that are easy to digest and fit into your routine.

The missing piece: fibre

Fibre supports gut health, helps regulate blood sugar and plays a role in keeping your energy steady, especially across long workdays or back-to-back sessions.

A diet low in fibre can leave you feeling flat, bloated or constantly hungry, even if your protein intake is high.

When fibre is dialled in, digestion improves, recovery feels smoother and overall energy becomes more stable.

Why the balance matters

Protein and fibre aren’t separate goals. They work together.

A well-balanced approach helps:

  • Support muscle recovery without digestive discomfort
  • Keep energy levels steady throughout the day
  • Improve satiety so you’re not constantly snacking
  • Create a more sustainable way of eating around training

It’s less about extremes, more about building something you can maintain.

Join us: Protein & Fibre for Active Lifestyles

To break this down properly, we’re hosting an in-club session with our in-house naturopath, Tania Peta, in collaboration with BettaYou.

Tania will show you how to structure your intake of protein and fibre to support training, recovery and long-term health. BettaYou will be there to guide you through practical options, including product education and sampling so you can understand what works for your body.

We’ll also round out the session with a short breathwork component, giving you something practical to take away beyond nutrition.

What to expect:

  • Clear, practical guidance on protein and fibre for active lifestyles
  • How to structure your intake across the day
  • Product sampling and education from BettaYou
  • A short breathwork session to support recovery
