Play by the Rules
Play by the Rules
We have the following rules in place for the safety of our swim school members.
DROP OFF
An adult must accompany a child upon entry. Please do not drop your child off and then go to park the car. This procedure is in place to ensure the safety and proper supervision of all children on site.
Children arriving without an accompanying adult will be stopped at reception, and a parent or guardian will be contacted immediately.
CHECK IN & SWIM SCHOOL TAGS
All Swim School children must check in at reception with an Elixr Swim School tag before each lesson. If your child doesn’t have a tag, please ask the reception team to issue one.
PRAM PARKING
Prams are welcome in the pool area. If you prefer to leave your pram outside the pool area, please place it in the corridor between the main change room and the pool, and ensure it is pushed up against the wall.
Prams must not block access to the accessibility platform lift, gym equipment, doorways, or lockers.
CHANGE ROOMS
To ensure the safety of all, we kindly ask that you use the poolside change area or the family/accessible change room when changing your child.
As part of our child protection policy, Adults are not permitted to change on poolside and must use a change room when undressing.
Changing directly on the poolside can be visible to members in nearby gym and pool areas. Be aware that changing on poolside may make people in these spaces uncomfortable.
You can use the gym change rooms; however, you must strictly follow the age policy. Children aged six and over must use the change room that matches their gender.
Please be aware that the gym change rooms are shared with adults, where adult nudity is typical. For everyone’s comfort and privacy, consider what is suitable for your child and others in these settings.
Children should go into the change room that matches the gender of the adult who is accompanying them.
For example, if a father brings his daughter, they should use the male change room, as the father is the one changing her.
APPROPRIATE SWIMWEAR
For ease of teaching and safety, we recommend the following swimwear:
• Girls: One-piece swimmers are preferred. Please avoid sending girls to lessons without a top, as it makes proper support and holds difficult for instructors.
• Boys: Fitted swimwear such as Speedos or jammers are preferred.
• Avoid: Board shorts, oversized rash shirts and full sunsuits are great for the beach but not for swimming as they become very heavy and drag in the water.
CAPS & GOGGLES
For hygiene and safety, all children (excluding those in Parent & Baby classes) are required to wear a swim cap and goggles to every lesson.
• Caps: We operate under a “No Cap, No Swim” policy. Caps protect our pool filters and ensure a better swimming experience by keeping hair out of the face, especially during side breathing.
• Goggles: Avoid novelty googles as they often end up being a hinderance.
Swim caps (latex or fabric) and goggles are available for purchase at reception.
SUPERVISION POLICY
A parents/guardian must stay at poolside during all lessons, including squads, for children under 14.
If you’re a gym member, you can be in the pool, spin room, or cardio room, where we can see you.
Children will not be allowed into a class or the club if no parent/guardian is present.
• All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
• Children are not allowed to attend swimming lessons or squad sessions with a sibling or guardian under 18.
• Once your child turns 14, they may attend swimming lessons independently; however, they cannot act as a guardian for younger siblings.
GYM EQUIPMENT & SPACES
Children are not permitted to use or touch any gym equipment or enter any gym areas. Children are not permitted to operate the accessibility platform lift.
PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO
All photography and/or video recording must be approved in advance by the Elixr Swim School or General manager.
If permitted, you may only capture images or videos of your child that are no longer than 20 seconds and must not include other children, including those in the background.

• Fever
