“I’m Australian, but after 14 years living abroad in the UAE and UK, I’ve been told I don’t sound it!

I’ve been teaching Pilates for almost half my life, though that was never the original plan. Growing up, I wanted to be a writer and was studying journalism when I discovered Elixr and reformer Pilates. I quickly became hooked, taking classes every lunch break and eventually doubling up to two classes a day—sometimes as many as 10 a week! It was Katharine who suggested I consider becoming an instructor. I started working at reception, completed my full certification, and decided to put my journalism plans on hold “just for a few years.”

Those few years turned into a career. I was offered a job in Dubai as a Pilates instructor trainer, where I taught matwork and reformer courses. What began as a two-year contract stretched into nearly five. After Dubai, I moved to London, where I continued teacher training for STOTT Pilates, launched my own personal training business (which I still run successfully online from Sydney), and completed a Master’s in Osteopathy.

I’m passionate about learning how the body works, understanding movement, and helping my clients get out of pain. That passion led me to study osteopathy and pursue two post-graduate mentorships in movement mechanics. While my osteopathy training focused heavily on manual therapy, I firmly believe that movement—specifically good, quality movement—is the best medicine. That’s why Pilates remains a cornerstone of my practice. It’s endlessly adaptable, whether for clients dealing with pain or injuries or for elite athletes seeking a challenge.

Exercise has always been a significant part of my life. I competed in CrossFit for three years before transitioning to functional fitness and weightlifting. Still, Pilates was my first love and has given me an incredible career and opportunities to travel the world.

Now, 14 years after I left, I feel very fortunate to be back at Elixr. I’m excited to settle into life in Sydney and build a future here with my fiancé.”
